What is the Free Herd Report?
It is a free service that organises the farm information you already have into a clearer herd report. Depending on the information supplied, this may include SCC, cow and quarter history, previous culture findings, treatment history and relevant dates.
Do I need to buy software or take out a subscription?
No. The Free Herd Report does not require a subscription or a new farm-software system.
What records can I send?
Existing records you believe are relevant, such as SCC reports, cow and quarter history, culture results, treatment records, dates and relevant veterinary information. Usefulness depends on the information available.
Does OnFarm Lab visit the farm?
Yes. The initial service model includes an OnFarm technician visiting to carry out agreed screening work and support selected on-farm culture investigations.
How many cows are screened during the standard visit?
The €25 entry-level visit includes screening of 10 cows and one culture sample. Confirm the agreed screening plan for the visit.
Is every cow or sample cultured?
No. Culture is selected where additional information may be useful; not every cow or quarter will be cultured.
When are culture results available?
Under the current workflow, results are available after approximately 20 hours of on-farm incubation.
Who prepares the report?
The central OnFarm Lab team prepares it using information supplied by the field technician and farm personnel.
Does OnFarm Lab replace my veterinarian?
No. OnFarm Lab supports screening, culture information, record organisation and follow-up. Veterinary diagnosis and treatment decisions remain with the farm’s responsible veterinarian.
What does the €25 entry-level visit include?
The €25 entry-level visit includes screening of 10 cows, one culture sample and farm records submitted to OnFarm as part of the service. Additional culture samples are €11 each.
Can reports help with ClassyFarm or BoviWell?
Organised records may help prepare relevant animal-health information. OnFarm Lab does not provide official assessments, use prescribed formats by default or guarantee compliance.
How is my farm information handled?
Farm information is used to support the agreed reporting and service process. Please review the Privacy Notice for details about data handling, access, retention and sharing.
