Practical mastitis support, from screening to follow-up
OnFarm Lab combines practical on-farm work with organised herd information.
The service helps farms investigate selected mastitis problems, maintain clearer cow-wise and quarter-wise records and follow the situation over time.
Practical support beyond a single test
OnFarm Lab connects on-farm work with the information needed to review patterns and plan useful follow-up.
On-farm visits
Agreed farm visits to support screening, collect relevant information and coordinate selected investigations.
Screening and selected culture
Screening findings and selected culture information are considered alongside the cow’s history, SCC records and other observations. Under the current workflow, culture results are available after approximately 20 hours.
Herd reporting and records
Bring together SCC trends, cow-wise and quarter-wise history, screening findings, culture results and dates, repeat cases, relevant treatment history and veterinary information supplied by the farm.
Follow-up over time
Maintain a clearer record of what has happened, what has changed and which cows or quarters may need further discussion with the farm’s veterinarian.
Explore the tools
Practical tools can support screening or on-farm culture. Their role depends on the investigation, product instructions and availability. They complement—not replace—organised herd history and veterinary judgement.

AccuMast™
Culture-based support for obtaining additional information from selected milk samples as part of a practical investigation workflow.
Learn more +
What it is used for
Supports selected on-farm culture investigations. Results should be interpreted alongside the cow’s history, other available information and veterinary judgement.
Specifications and instructions
Ask OnFarm Lab for current technical specifications, sample requirements, instructions and availability.

Portable Incubator
Compact incubation support for practical on-farm culture workflows, used in line with the applicable instructions and procedures.
Learn more +
What it is used for
Provides incubation support within the selected on-farm culture workflow. It does not itself identify bacteria or replace interpretation of culture findings.
Specifications and instructions
Ask OnFarm Lab for the current operating range, capacity, power requirements, instructions and availability before use.

MAST-TEST™
Conductivity-based quarter-screening support intended to flag cows or quarters that may warrant closer attention alongside other available information.
Learn more +
What it is used for
Supports screening by helping identify quarters that may need further investigation. A screening result is not, by itself, a diagnosis of mastitis or identification of the organism.
Specifications and instructions
Ask OnFarm Lab for current technical specifications, use instructions, interpretation guidance and availability.

DIP-SLIDE
A lower-cost preliminary test intended to indicate whether bacteria are Gram-positive or Gram-negative before proceeding to identification culture.
Learn more +
Bacteria detection before identification
DIP-SLIDE is intended to provide an early indication of the bacterial group—not identify the specific organism. This may help the farm and veterinarian decide which samples should proceed to more detailed identification culture, potentially reducing unnecessary culture costs.
Important distinction
It is a preliminary bacterial-group screen, not a replacement for identification culture or veterinary judgement. Final instructions, performance characteristics and availability must be confirmed before use.

The tools are part of the process—not the whole process
The value comes from reviewing information, investigating where useful, organising findings and following what happens next.
